And now for the really massive 96 image poster. All 2.6M of it. The bigger version is here.
This is where all the stories collapse into one, but maybe you can tease some of them out again by having a look. There are some particular ones I’d like to mention - like the zebra stripe 2CV, and next to it, the neglected bit of pavement with a sign saying END. Because that’s what all the little scraps of pavement are about. Stub ends.
Then there’s the series of black rectangles painted on a bluebrick wall: we know why they’re there, but they suggest some weird art gallery of nihilist paintings, or where the old paint behind the frames turns black. And speaking of desolation, that ped/bike sign in the middle of a footpath seemingly going nowhere.
The faded signwriting saying ESEARCH & DEV is poignant against the old tech shed, as are the boarded-up buildings at Rookery Park, and the repair work under wraps at the church in Erdington.
This then, is what you can see by taking the 11. Well worth it, quite an adventure, and there are still unexplored places for next time and the time after that.

The wheels people on the bus go round and round, round and round… but are any of these people 11ers? And who is looking so pensive on the lower left?

This could do with some livening up.
I’m not sure graffiti would help.
Maybe some coloured gravel?
A few bits of coloured plastic?
